Welcome to my gallery featuring 25 years of New York Street Photography

I want you to enjoy my galleries of street photography without getting lost. There are many different galleries with subjects you can peruse. If you you are interested in Subway photos there are plenty of images which show the NYC subway system in all its “splendor” You can leave comments if you feel so inclined.

Most images can be purchased as either High Resolution digital files, suitable for reproduction, or as prints for your collection. Please e-mail me for details.

“The Urban Prisoner” (Shown on the left) is my first monograph, published in 2004 by Sanctuary Books. Introduction by Ben Lifson. There are still some copies available for purchase.

Purchase The Urban Prisoner from Sanctuary Books

Finally, back to rectangles, or even better, curves…

NYC 1999

OK, I found a square from a few years ago, so I didn’t have to crop it for Mike…This picture would make a lovely cover for your next serious jazz album. It has a 1950s feel to it and of course this image won’t last long, so it’s first come, first served…

Broadway 2010

I’ve run out of images which I can crop square, so my tribute to Mike Peters is officially at an end…Bookmark his site and follow his “Dream” on Flickr…

“Happy Feet” 2010

I don’t know how many more images I can crop as a nod to Mike Peter’s work.

I like my rectangles…

“I wanna be like Mike”

Mike Peters has just wrapped up a digital presentation of his work called “The Dream” It will hopefully find a publisher soon. He hopes to print four narrow books and then put them into a slipcase. That would be fantastic! I have decided to crop my work from now on as a tribute to Mike, who lugs his Hasselblad around everywhere and makes me wish that I had one too. I remember what it feels like to compose an image with a larger camera and then attain critical focus. You just sense the potential of the image in a different way than with 35 mm. Of course I’m sort of kidding here, but another thing which Mike has, that I covet is…Four cars! I just want one…

NYC 1992

I haven’t seem him in years…He probably had to endure a ton of jokes about his ears. If he served during WW II I can just hear his Sergeant yelling “Private Dumbo, get here on the double!” He probably had a good sense of humor, I hope…
